Special Requirements and Equipment

  • Clients are responsible for contacting the property management software and requesting an interface with SalonBiz®/SpaBiz®. Following this approval, we will contact their integration specialist and develop specifications.
  • Network connectivity between spa and hotel is required.
  • Windows 2003 or Citrix is required in a terminal server environment for debit cards.

Implementation
If using an interface listed above, new development may not be necessary.
If using an interface not listed above, new development will most likely be necessary.
There are 5 phases to new development of a hotel integration module:
1. Initial contact, collection of information and customized agreement
2. Specification review
3. Development
4. Testing
5. Implementation

We estimate approximately two months to complete new development. This
time frame may vary due to the current development schedule.

Unlimited training is available with the SalonBiz®/SpaBiz® subscription.

Hotel Guest Payment Type
The ability to post room charges is available through the hotel plug in. Create a separate payment type called “Room Charge” to use as payment on sales tickets. Track the use of the new payment type through two different reports, the Daily Summary and the Payment Detail Reports.

Guest Search
Once “Room Charge” payment type is used, it will continue to process the ticket, the system will ask for the hotel guest’s room number. The hotel integration will search the hotel system and ask the user to verify the hotel guest name.

Processing The Sale
Once verified, the charge is posted to the hotel system and the
SalonBiz®/SpaBiz® ticket is processed.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it send an itemized copy of the salon/spa bill to the hotel?
No. Hotel integration will post a service and retail total to their hotel account. The hotel will see simply one charge labeled ‘spa’ there is no itemized break down of any service or retail charges. If your salon/spa client needs an itemized receipt they can take the detailed SalonBiz®/SpaBiz® receipt.

How much do upgrades cost?
Upgrades are complimentary as they become available.

Can you reverse a room charge if you make a mistake?
Yes. Voiding the ticket with the incorrect payment information will reverse room charges.

Do I have to use "Room Charge"?
No. The actual payment type name created can be customized according to your preferences.
